Trauma Informed Counselling and Psychotherapy Sydney
“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
there is a field.
I’ll meet you there"
Rumi
Grounded Space Counselling Kristy-Lee Ferry
“I believe that healing isn’t about fixing what’s broken.. it’s about remembering who you are underneath the survival patterns.
The body holds what the mind can’t. That’s why we work with it.
We follow sensation, stillness, contraction, and truth — and we listen for what’s trying to emerge”
I offer somatic, trauma-informed therapy for people navigating:

-
Developmental and childhood trauma
-
Overthinking, rumination, emotional avoidance, and nervous system dysregulation
-
Addiction, codependency, Anxiety and people-pleasing
-
Complex relationship dynamics (divorce, ENM, infidelity) and attachment wounds
-
Identity, self-trust, authenticity, and personal truth
-
Sex, kink, fetishes, fantasy, ethical non-monogamy and the full spectrum of erotic identity and expression
Hi, I’m Kristy-Lee a somatic psychotherapist and counsellor, grounded in both professional training and lived experience.
I’ve sat in the client chair. I’ve unravelled parts of myself I didn’t know I was carrying.
And I know the kind of space it takes to feel safe enough to go there.

I work with people who want to move beyond survival, into real, embodied living.
I work somatically, holistically, and relationally — combining everything I’ve studied across modern neuroscience, psychotherapy, traditional Eastern philosophies, integrative therapeutic models, and quantum principles of consciousness with lived experience and presence-based attunement.
If you’ve ever felt out of place in traditional therapy, know this space is different.
Available in person in Crows Nest, Sydney and online, Australia and worldwide.

“From the day I first met Kristy she understood me in a way I didn't understand myself and held space and patience to share her wisdom with me gently as I was ready to hear it. Kristy never fails to provide golden nuggets of wisdom every session and has a way with words to translate something I felt was so complicated, broken and unable to communicate, into clear, tangible messages of understanding that I could immediately adopt, take home and grow with. Kristy introduced me to a world I didn't know existed within myself. She created a space so safe I could begin to get to know, trust and love all the parts of myself. Every topic is safe with Kristy. She gently and effortlessly opened my eyes to my inner knowing and slowly but surely, she helped me begin to trust it. I look back on the person I was when I first walked into Kristy's space and I barely recognise her. I will be forever grateful for the support and kindness from Kristy and I know that she has truly shaped my life for the better. There is a very clear contrast in my life before meeting Kristy, to now. For the first time in forever I feel that I have inner strength, guidance and confidence to create my own life, and Kristy has given me a toolbox of self-awareness, and compassion for myself and for others around me. I whole-heartedly recommend Kristy to other people and wish for them to know that with Kristy's support; transformation, healing, and a connection to yourself and to those around you is within reach, no matter how impossible that may have once seemed"
Greg
“Kristy is an outstanding therapist with natural empathy, compassion and warmth. She has great listening skills, which she uses to help unpack feelings, thoughts and beliefs. I've always been impressed by the deep wealth of knowledge, approaches and strategies she is able to draw from dynamically in the moment, effortlessly articulating what can be complex things into simple packets of meaningful insight. Importantly, her non judgemental and genuine approach enables you to feel safe to openly discuss matters at hand. I'm grateful for Kristy's help in not only overcoming issues and blockages, but in helping in continual growth and evolution"
Alfie
“Working with Kristy has changed my life. When I first started I was unsure and disconnected from my reality. Kristy walked alongside offering presence, calm, and care. She somehow knows exactly how to meet you where you are at. Through her support I have come to feel more grounded, more whole, and more alive to my own life. If you are looking for someone who will genuinely hold space for you, I can’t recommend Kristy enough"
About Me
If you’ve ever sat across from someone who just smiled and nodded, while your truth stayed buried under shame or self-editing…

You’re not alone. What’s heavy, tangled, or hidden is safe to bring here.
This space is different.

I offer open-minded, non judgemental therapy that meets the whole of you - especially the parts you’ve had to hide just to get by.
Whether you’re exploring your sexuality, navigating non-traditional relationships, unravelling trauma, or trying to break free from the patterns that keep repeating… we work with all of it. Gently. Deeply
I’m a somatic psychotherapist and counsellor. My approach is shaped not only by study, but by lived experience, embodiment, and deep listening.
My journey into this work comes from a lifelong fascination with the human experience, especially the parts that don’t fit inside the usual boxes.
I’ve always been drawn to what’s underneath the surface. I’ve spent years untangling my own survival strategies, identities, longings, and wounds.. and I know that real healing doesn’t come from insight alone. It comes from presence. From truth. From the body.
To stay grounded in this work, I continue to engage in weekly personal therapy, supervision, and deep inner process. This isn’t just what I do - it’s how I live.
What I Believe
I believe therapy should be a space where all of you is welcome - even the parts that feel shameful, stuck, or unseen.
I don’t sit above you. I sit with you.
Not to fix but to witness, reflect, and support you as you reconnect with what’s real inside.
Healing isn’t about becoming someone else. It’s about returning to yourself.
Who I Work Best With
You might be someone who:

-
Feels stuck in cycles of people-pleasing, co-dependency, or self-abandonment
-
Is working through developmental or childhood trauma
-
Struggles with addiction or compulsive patterns
-
Wants to heal attachment wounds and relationship dynamics
-
Has done “the work” but still feels like something’s missing
-
Is exploring identity, truth, and how to live more fully aligned
-
Navigates non-traditional relationships, sexuality, or kink
If so I welcome all of that. Nothing is too much here and its all held within a nonjudgemental open minded space...

We work slowly, intuitively, and somatically letting your system guide the pace. This isn’t therapy that talks about change. This is therapy that becomes the change.
